MARTIN MOHR
* born 1973 in Mainz (Germany), lives and works as a freelance artist, lecturer and educational organiser in Bonn. He studied communication design at the Wiesbaden and Düsseldorf Universities of Applied Sciences, fine arts at the Bauhaus University Weimar and fine arts at the Berlin University of the Arts. Since then, he has dedicated himself to a consistently gestural, searching visual language. His non-figurative, sometimes oversized picture formats constantly negotiate the relationship between reality and assumption, while always measuring and referring to the artist himself. He describes his works not as the representation of the world, but as the development of his own image-worlds. These are places and spaces of longing, visions and utopias. His works, bursting with sensual experience, have been exhibited internationally.
