Mission

Art as a space for thought, a place for contemplation, a space for excitement - always curious, finding, throwing away, sketching anew. Nature as impulse, inspiration, mirror - observed, explored, doubted, destroyed, preserved and revered. For 15 years now, Raum für Kunst und Natur in Bonn has been showing artistic positions on the theme of nature with a rich variety of facets. Always with HI (Human Intelligence), sensually and personally tangible.

With the relaunch in spring 2023, the gallery is venturing a post-pandemic update of its programme. The focus of the gallery artists, some well-known and some new, is on painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, object art and installations. Based in the Rhine region, all the protagonists are characterised by a rich artistic oeuvre developed over many years coupled with extensive expertise.

A special feature of the exhibition programme are the double exhibitions curated by the artists in cooperation with gallery owner Cornelia Genschow. The aim of the five-week exhibitions is to create a far-reaching and fruitful dialogue beyond the Rhine region into national and international fields.

All gallery artists are permanently represented with an edition designed exclusively for Raum für Kunst und Natur. These can be viewed and purchased both on site in Bonn and on the website.

In September each year, the gallery, in cooperation with ArtDialog Bonn e.V., is delighted to host the Artist in Residence scholarship for an artist, which is unique in Bonn. This is advertised throughout Europe and curated by a highly respected jury of protagonists from various cultural institutions in Bonn.

The gallery opens on the first Sunday of every second month. On this afternoon, the artists are present and available for discussions. Sunday tours in the middle of the exhibition period and a finissage with an artist talk invite you to visit. All other visits can be arranged with maximum flexibility.

There are no exhibitions during the summer break.
