SAMO SKOBERNE
*1965 in Celje (SLO), lives and works in Bonn and Grafschaft since studying sculpture at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences. In his work, the wood sculptor follows the growth movement of trunks and branches, adopting their natural shape and initially creating twisted square profiles. These form the basis for the new composition of sculptures and installations ranging from filigree to large-scale, whereby the environment itself becomes the means and path of creation. Samo Skoberne calls this process the cultivation of nature, a dualism that should by no means be understood in terms of violent intervention and superiority over nature, but rather as a dialogue, as listening and following. His works are represented internationally in exhibitions and land art projects.
